Default Domain hosted on other account want to create site for it on my VPS

hi,
A client has domain registered on his account on BK, I have access and changed the A record to the IP of my VPS, just wondering where to go from here to set up a www directory for the site?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

If you manually create a site within Plesk and it uses the correct IP it should just work ...

OK, that's what i tried to do but can't seem to get it to work. Doesn't show as a 'site', created a directory of the domain name in var/www/vhosts.

Thought this should be as easy if not easier as creating a site who's domain is hosted elsewhere!

If you are using plesk you create a site / domain from within Plesk

Manually creating directories won't do anything, as Apache has no way of knowing what you are doing

Have a look at the tutorials here:

Plesk 8 - Reseller

right.
i'm deffo missing something here, i can not find anywhere on plesk where to add a new domain, only subdomains. only options I can find are:
  • Set Up Web Hosting for a Site
  • Create a Database
  • Create a Client Account
  • Create a web user Account
etc,

on the vid tutorial it has a 'home' link on left, I do not, Nor can I find anywhere to add domain.

I'm not a complete twit when it comes to this stuff but it's making me feel like one!

I need to get this site running asap and this is taking far too long. THis seems like basic task to me, adding a site for a domain hosted on another account here.

Anyway, help appreciated. Thanks

"Set Up Web Hosting for a Site" sounds like the right option

OK, tried that then it tells me that i need to add ip from pool via client area. 'add ip' is greyed out in client page.

So, killed client thinking i should just be able to add site, but no, I have to add a client also (even tho i don't want to), back to the loop.

so, back to creating a client....

Information: The client xxxx's account was created.
Error: Unable to create new domain: Client's IP pool is empty. To add an IP address, you should use the Client's IP pool management functions available from the Client's Home Page.

fine....

"Add New IP Address" is greyed out.
