Just created account,, added index need help

Hi I just purchased a domain and hosting package with blacknight..
so i should not have to do much setup as far as i know, like activating DNS etc etc..

I have uploaded my index.html file to the root folder and i go to the url and get Service not available message...

please help.. do i need to do any pre set up to get the site up and running...

also none of the test pages work either,,, such as SSi, PHP support etc when i go to test... I get the same message....


Please help...
