How do I set up IMAP Mail on my Plesk control panel or on my local email software. I regularly check mail from two locations and I would like to connect using IMAP instead of POP3. Can this be done in Plesk and if so what are the settings??? |

I tried setting it up like that but it just keeps giving me the message "Could not connect to the mail server mail.mydomain.tld; the connection was refused" I tried it in Thunderbird, Outlook and Outlook Express and the same answer for them all. The mail works fine when set up as POP3 |

That's odd AFAIK it should work fine using the same mail hosts

I also searched the Plesk forum for help but can't find anything relating to this issue. |

On my local system the firewall was turned off while I tested the account. |

Ah ... that explains that. I should have asked you for your account details. IMAP is not a feature of the free version of MailEnable. You should be able to purchase the paid edition for <100 euro once off and that'll give you imap and some other tasty features. Paul |
