Default python and mod_python

Hi there. Is it be possible for you to install python and mod_python on a server for me? I have a project coming up where I have to build a web interface to a small python app. I would like to go with blacknight for hosting but as I understand it you don't have python installed on your servers.

I would be happy enough to run the app under CGI, so mod_python wouldn't be an absolute requirement, though it might make the thing perform better.

thanks
Karl

Hi Karl,

Unfortunately we aren't going to install mod_python on any of our shared servers for the time being. However another option would be to get a starter VPS at VPS hosting - virtuozzo parallels debian centos windows 2003

This will give you root on your own virtual server and you can install mod_python along with any other modules as you see fit.

Niall.

Thanks for the quick response Niall. The VPS approach sounds good and is similarly priced to the shared hosting package we were going to use anyway. All I have to do now is figure out the difference between debian/ubuntu/fedora/suse linux!

cheers
Karl

Hi Karl,

My own preference would be Debian as apt-get makes life a lot easier
