Default Installing Wordpress plugins

Hi,

To install wordpress plugins at my site , I'm being asked a Hostname, Username, Password and Connection Type (FTP or FTPS (SSL).

Is my username & password my cp.blacknight.com login in?

What is the correct Hostname?

Thanks,

Lenny

Hostname - your domain name
User /Pass - your FTP username / password - you can find those details in your control panel

NB: The control panel login is NOT your FTP login

Thanks Michelle - however, following your instructions has led me to discover another problem. I can't find my Wordpress files!

My site is clearly there (Yellow Roman Candles*|*Online magazine, like). However, when I go to the httpdocs>wordpress in the file manager, there are only three .php files there - no Wordpress folder structure with themes, plugins etc

As such, I'm being told the Wordpress plugin directory can't be found when I go to install Wordpress.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks,

Lenny

I have the same problem.

I did eventually find the name of the localhost within the cp, however when I try to upgrade to the new version of wordpress automatically or install plugins, it says it cannot find the directory.

This did not happen on your old hosting plans, the way your new one works is very different and quite confusing

Solution:

By default if both php modules are switched on in your control panel it will use php4 by default. so you need to switch off php and just have php5 support active and that solved everything for me, no more prompts for ftp details .
