Ever since yesterday morning my IMAP email stopped syncing between my MacBook Pro and my iPhone. All was working fine for the last few weeks but now the two devices have just stopped communicating with server (in so far as marking messages as read/unread, moving messages between folders, deleting etc.). The mails are still coming through alright, but if I read them on my laptop they still show as 'unread' on my iPhone. If I read them on my iPhone as well, then next time I connect they all revert back to unread. Very strange and frustrating. I also removed almost 200 messages from my Inbox in Apple mail yesterday and this morning they all downloaded again. So Apple Mail is not telling the server to remove these messages, or it is, and the server isn't responding? Just wondering does this sound like an Apple mail problem, or would it be something to do with my hosting server? |

My MacBook Pro usually syncs via my home WiFi network, but occasionally through my 3 Mobile Broadband modem. I sync the iPhone through either Edge, 3G or my home WiFi. All has been fine since I got the iPhone 5 weeks ago but now it's stopped responding and I'm fairly certain I haven't changed anything. That's what's throwing me as I don't know where to start looking for a solution? Thanks for the links on Apple. I've had a read around and even posted my own topic on this issue there also so hopefully there'll be an easy solution available. These things always seem to happen when you've no time to sort them out! |
