Hi Folks,
I need your advice- we are using wordpress installed via Installatron to host a webzine/forum. The address is coming up online as oghamstone.org/TheOghamStone/
This is not user friendly enough.
We want to get it down to simply www.oghamstone.org- so that when someone types this in as the url, they are directed to the homepage of the WP site.
I have tried redirecting the extended version to the shorter in Directadmin without success.
I think the problem is the database in which WP installs- can you suggest any way that we can have somebody using our short domain?

Have you checked the Wordpress configuration settings?

I just have. I just entered the wordpress settings and shortened the website url to www.oghamstone.org- now WP appears to no longer be supported. see The Ogham Stone » home of independent journalism
Need to figure out how to get back into WP to correct....

Back up and running now- but my original question stands- using DirectAdmin, how can I redirect somebody arriving at oghamstone.org to the site positioned at oghamstone.org/TheOghamStone?

I'm a small bit confused

Do you want people to see http://www.yourdomain.com OR http://www.yourdomain.com/bloglocation ?

If you want people to be automatically redirected to /blog (or whatever) you should be able to do so via the redirect option in your control panel

The former- the url address www.yourdomain.com- I would like them be able to type the url in the url bar - and this then to direct them into the WP site.
When I type in this link (www.oghamstone.org)in the url- access is forbidden
